Core Philosophy: We are incredibly lucky to exist on this planet where the conditions happen to be just right to support life. We have all overcome obstacles to be here (some of us more than others), and it is important to recognize and appreciate our diverse experiences. It is our shared human nature to strive for success and a sense of purpose. The most meaningful educational experiences happen when the teacher and students learn alongside each other and work toward a shared goal.

Music helps me relax, but I also enjoy reading and watching good movies/television. John Steinbeck is my favorite author. "Interstellar" is my favorite movie. Board games and trivia games are my favorite social activities, and I think chess is probably the closest thing there is to a perfect game. For recreation my favorite activities are hiking, kayaking/Paddle Boarding, and riding around on my bike. I'm not very good at traditional golf, but better at disc golf (i.e. with a frisbee). I try to run nine miles a week (3 miles, 3 times a week) if I can. But as I get older, I am starting to pursue lower impact activities. Stretching and yoga (with Adriene on Youtube) have definitely become a part of my daily routine.
I am incredibly grateful for my family. My wife and kids are the best things that ever happened to me. |
